Helicopters

All of our helicopters are fitted with emergency pop-out floats, emergency locator transmitters and headsets for all passengers, allowing for internal communication and noise protection.  Our helicopters are maintained to the highest level, by a fleet of engineers at Helibiz, and at all times meet the strict requirements, defined by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

ROBINSON 44

All of our helicopters are new or near new, air conditioned Robinson 44’s.  These helicopters are the ideal machines for scenic flights, due to the fact that every person on board occupies a window seat.  The maximum capacity on a Robinson 44 is three passengers, thus guaranteeing a great experience with few numbers.Engine: Lycoming 10-540 6 cylinder engine

EC-120B The Eurocopter EC120 Colibri

The EC-120B is a 5-seat, single-engine, single main rotor, light helicopter. It features a fenestron tail rotor, making it a particularly quiet helicopter, and coupled with a wide cabin, it is the perfect machine for transport.

BELL 206 LONGRANGER

This six passenger carrying turbine aircraft is the largest in our fleet.  Perfect for small groups or families.  The seat configuration is one up front and five in the back cabin (two of which face aft).  The 5 out of 6 passengers occupy a window seat, making it a great helicopter to fly in when it comes to viewing the Great Barrier Reef and Whitehaven Beach from the air!

Our Pilots

Hamilton Island Air pilots join the company with a high level of previous over water, charter and tourism experience and are required to have a minimum number of hours in the air.  This gives you peace of mind, knowing that safety with Hamilton Island Air is paramount.  We ensure that pilot’s skills are maintained to the highest level through extensive, ongoing training.Hamilton Island Air pilots are expected to have a strong knowledge of our backyard and, therefore there are no better people to show you around the wonderful place we are fortunate enough to call home!
